Implementing a small redundancy programme?

Our advice is to chunk it down into manageable phases…

If the warning signals are there, you’ve got more staff than you’ve got work, it may be time to give serious thought to a redundancy programme.

Your instinct may be to put it off… Who gets pleasure from managing a redundancy programme? It’s not a feel good project…

So we’d recommend breaking it down into manageable phases.

For us its:

  1. Planning/Prevention
  2. Consultation
  3. Transition
  4. Evaluation

If time is a factor, it may be tempting to scrimp on the planning/prevention phases, but in our experience, it pays to invest time in this area, saving you bigger headaches later on…

It’s also easy to forget the evaluation phase of a redundancy programme in the rush to move on, but a lot of learning, development and healing happens if you allow time for real reflection.

Take a look at our video which shows you the phases you should be thinking about.

So don’t put it off, make that start, and if you need help along the way, we’re here to support you on any step of the journey.
